Do you love going to the cinema but hate leaving your dog at home? Then here’s the solution! At the Picturehouse they’re as big a fan of dogs as they are of cinema. So they decided to join the two. Their Dog-Friendly Screenings have been running with huge success for over a year sending tails wagging nationwide.
Every month or so, well-behaved dogs and their friendly owners are welcome at a select film screening which usually takes place on Sunday morning. Â It’s a great way for dog owners to enjoy cinema without leaving their best friend at home and meet fellow dog-owning film fans.
They always have snacks and water ready and ensure all dogs sit on a blanketed seat to avoid any hair or mess. After the event, the screen is thoroughly cleaned making sure those furry cinephiles leave no trace behind. To further cater to cinema-loving pooches, the volume is dipped as we know they have superhero hearing powers.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a dog-friendly screening at Picturehouse, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As a dog lover, finding a place where I can enjoy a movie with my furry friend was a dream come true, and this cinema exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming. They were attentive to both my dog and me, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable viewing experience. There were cosy blankets and plenty of space for them to settle in, which I appreciated. The cinema also provided water bowls, which is a thoughtful touch for our pups! The atmosphere was relaxed, and the movie sound levels were adjusted to ensure it wasn’t too overwhelming for the dogs. I noticed that the crowd was respectful, making sure their pets were well-behaved and didn’t disturb the experience for others. It truly felt like a community event for dog owners. Overall, I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable cinema experience with their dog. Whether you’re a first-time dog-cinema-goer or a regular, this place is a true gem. I can’t wait to return for the next screening!
